Major League Baseball is the professional baseball organization that is apart of one of four major professional sporting events in America. Out of the four it is the oldest league and consists of two leagues, the National League and the American League. For many years the National League has been a symbol of quality, commitment and also represents those that paved the way for current baseball players.
A rebrand of the National League was necessary, to show that it still embodies the history of the old logo, but is not something that is stuck in the past. In baseball playoffs when players are wearing their uniforms, the National League logo on their sleeves does not seem to fit the style of design today. The new brand represents what the well known National League has become today. The primary component of the National League identity is the new symbol paired with the memorable arc of the original type. Combined in a precise way, the configuration of these elements works together to create a powerful visual image as well as holds on to what it use to be. The red and blue colors were carried over from the original logo to keep this identity cohesive as well as respect the heritage.
